Cookie policy

What is set, what is optional, and how to change your mind.

The short version

Nothing optional is set until you accept it. Analytics stay switched off until you press “Accept analytics” in the banner, and you can withdraw at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer. That is what the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations require, and it is how this site is built.

Strictly necessary — always on

NamePurposeExpires
hee_consentRemembers your cookie choice so we do not ask again12 months
Session cookieKeeps your place in the quote form so answers are not lost between steps End of session
Cloudflare security cookiesProtect the site from attack and abusive trafficUp to 12 months

These do not require consent because the site cannot function safely without them. They are not used to profile you or to advertise to you.

Analytics — optional, off by default

If you accept, we use aggregate analytics to see which pages are read and where the quote form loses people. It tells us that a page was viewed and roughly from where — not who you are. If you decline, none of it is set, and the site works exactly the same.

We also keep a first-party record of page views on our own servers (page, referrer, device type, a random session identifier). It sets no third-party cookie and does not follow you to other sites.

Advertising cookies

None. We do not run display advertising or retargeting on this site, and we do not share cookie data with advertising networks.

Changing your mind

Use Cookie settings at the foot of any page to change your choice. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings — if you delete hee_consent the banner will simply ask again on your next visit.
